ARCO/Murray National is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our internal engineering design team based in Downers Grove, IL.  The Process Engineer will work closely with internal and external design engineers, construction teams, and directly with clients to support the design, procurement, and installation of process manufacturing lines as well as any related equipment or systems.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Assist in the process design of projects from the conceptual phase, schematic design, and design development.  Provide support during the construction documents and construction administration phases of design.
  • Assist in designing process components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project team.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment matrices.   In some instances, complete equipment sizing, datasheets, specifications, and develop instrument process data and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing Request for Proposal (RFP) packages as well as technical bid review and evaluation.
  • Develop new and innovative solutions to production improvement opportunities that accomplish business objectives including improving safety, quality, or efficiency for process/manufacturing end users.
  • Support business development efforts by developing conceptual design facility layouts and supporting proposal development for a comprehensive design/build or EPC solution.
  • Apply basic knowledge of commonly used process engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the process engineering services industry.
  • Travel to prospects and customers sites during pursuit or execution of projects periodically (less than 10%)

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or related-engineering discipline with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous process engineering and/or process manufacturing facility design experience required (experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor/microelectronics, food & beverage, oil & gas, renewable energy manufacturing, or textile manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience creating/developing process calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, facility layout, and equipment lists required
  • Experience in any of the following systems is highly preferred, including high purity water system, bulk & specialty gas, bulk chemical storage and delivery system, and wastewater treatment & reclamation.
  • Experience working in Autocad for facility design required
  • Strong competency in principles of industrial engineering
  • EIT certification and/or Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred
  • Must be comfortable solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
